BONDING = Power of Proximity x NEXTFESZT @ Trafó House 01.20.
During January 16-25, 2019 NEXTFESZT is held for the third time in Trafó – The Contemporary House of Arts – Budapest.

As part of the smART! XTRA series of interactive presentations, audiences are invited to discover interdisciplinary forms of collaboration between different areas of the arts and creative industries, through a number of ongoing projects. The It’s a MATCH! event will focus on online and offline interactions and communication methods based on interface, media and visual identity design.

Do we have a digital identity? How can we let ourselves be seen on social media channels? What kind of self-images we can project through our posts, check-in status and comments? How can an application or algorithm observe? With whose eyes do we look at each other? How can we address each other? What kind of communication channels, signals and gestures do we need to find each other?

Zsófia Lévai’s fashion-tech collection, the Power of Proximity, encourages people to spend less time in front of screens. The garments are created to give the familiar experience of online bonding but in real time, face to face. Krisztina Gáspár have choreographed a performance called BONDING to show the possibilities and the working mechanism of the collection.

Marcus Puskás designer and illustrator’s installation, The Big Data Gaze, is  summarising a 2 months research of  20,000 people’s online dating profile and visualising it through the biographical texts of the individuals.

Beatrix Simkó dancer-choreographer 24/15 video work deals with the experience of the everyday life and the change of habits through the observation of everyday activities of different generations.
